Here are a few Filipino words for prepositions translated into Ilonggo
Dulo (End) - Unhan/Punta
Tabi (By, Beside) - Higad
Gilid (Side) - Kilid
Kaliwa (Left) - Wala
Kanan (Right) - Tu-o
Bago (Before) - Antes
A couple of sentences, as examples. F = Filipino, E = English, and I = Ilonggo.
Example 1:
F: "Nakita namin si Brownie at Bantay naghaharutan sa tabi ng daan."
E: "We saw Brownie and Bantay horsing around by the road."
I: "Nakita namon si Brownie kag Bantay gadogsing sa higad dalan."
Example 2:
F:"Pinsan ni Domeng yung nakaupo sa kaliwa na silya."
E:"The girl seated on the left chair is the cousin of Domeng."/"The girl seated on the left chair is Domeng's cousin."
I:"Kas-a ni Domeng ang nagapungko sa wala nga siya."
